Pumpkin Spice Latte
50. Try 2 new recipes a month (4/33) (more info)
So Alex may have helped make this, but I made part of it… so it counts :) It was delicious!! I’m not even a huge pumpkin fan and I still really liked it. It’s nice because you can control how much spice/coffee/pumpkin is in it. Tara:9/10 Alex: 9/10 DeShanee: 7/10
Makes 1-2 Servings
2 cups milk (used skim milk)
2 tablespoons canned pumpkin (we used more than called for – around 3 tablespoons)
2 tablespoons sugar (you can half this amount – we didn’t)
2 tablespoons vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon pumpkin spice
1-2 shots espresso (about 1/4 cup or 1/2 cup strong coffee if you don’t have an espresso machine) (used Starbucks bold espresso beans)
1. In a saucepan combine milk, pumpkin, and sugar and cook on medium heat, stirring until steaming.
2. Remove from heat, stir in vanilla and spice.
3. Transfer to a blender and process (we used a submersion blender in the pan) and process for 15 seconds until foamy. (If you don’t have a blender just use a whisk!).
4. Pour into a large mug (or two mugs) and add the espresso.
5. Optional Top with whipped cream and pumpkin spice.
oooh….thanks for posting the recipe! I just might have to try this! :)
you really do! it is soooo good!
It was pretty good with vanilla vodka, but next time I want to use Kahlua! ^_^
Thanks for sharing. I will have to try this, since my favorite drink is a pumpkin spice latte!
I had never had one before, but it jumped onto my favorite list too :)
Kahlua or Bailey’s makes the perfect addition to any cup of coffee. ;)
Oh wow…. we need to try this with Baileys!
my mom said that you have to use really nice vodka if you’re going to be mixing with milk or cream… I think Kahlua would be much better :)
Well, the point is to use Kahlua (or Bailey’s) in place of of the cream or milk. :) I’ve done this before with regular coffee and it is good!
me too :) my grandma got me some really good Irish Cream for Christmas last year and I used it in my coffee at night :)
My mouth is watering at the mere sight of this recipe! It will be coming to a cup near me very soon. :)
Thanks for posting this!
It was so much better than I expected :)
As soon as autumn rolls around, my craving for pumpkin spice lattes strikes something fierce. This recipe is a keeper!
It’s so easy and delicious!!
Thanks for this post. I have been wanting to try something like this and wasn’t sure. Since you said you’re not a pumpkin fan and still liked it, well, I’m sold. Love your blog btw.
Thanks!! I’m definitely not the kind of person that eats pumpkin pie every Thanksgiving, so I didn’t think I’d like this. I was surprised at how good it is. You can very easily add more or less pumpkin :)
I am hearing great things about the pumpkin spice :)
For good reasons :)
i so like to read your post, but i am bad for english language. might please give a widget translator google on your side bar, on Indonesia Language of course. thanks

Hmm I’ll have to look into it…
I LOVE Pumpkin Spice Lattes :) I’m glad this recipe came up on the WordPress home page before I logged into my blog! I will definitely be trying this.
Oh wow! I was wondering where everyone was finding my blog :)
ooh! that sounds tastier than the synthy syrup at starbucks. (i worked there) canned pumpkin! :) yum
and better for you :)
Hi and Thanks for this recipe! Just in time for fall and winter Holidays. I shared it on my CafeMom, FaceBook, and Twitter! and will also post it on my Craft:>D WAHM site/blog.
Thanks! Where can I check out your blog?
Hey, so I really love pumpkin…
but, I actually have a question quite unrelated…I noticed that you have buttons in your side bar and I thought that wordpress.com didn’t support that…So I was just wondering how you did that? Thanks!
I’ll send it in an email :)
I am definitely going to try this I love pumpkin!
If you love pumpkin then I suggest adding a little more pumpkin than the recipe calls for :)
That looks amazing! I haven’t made flavored coffee in so long, I might have to add it to the recipes to be tried list!
It was so good :)
wow sounds really good will have to try so you bring the hot saucepan mix and blend it together?

Being the coffee hound/pumpkin lover (and that includes the seeds, roasted and salted) that I am, I instantly fell in love with the recipe. It’s something I’ll need to try really soon!
Make sure you add a little more pumpkin than it calls for if you love pumpkin :)
mmmm. thanks for the recipe. pumpkin spice is a favorite. can’t wait to make it : )
(& btw… what is your layout type? do you have to have the wordpress pro to get it?? i would love for my blog layout to look similar to this, right now it’s just to narrow & boring. please email back?)
best luck with the blog. looks fun/interesting so far!
Thanks :)
What do you want to know about the layout? I have the regular free wordpress and use the “vigilance” theme. You can customize the header and colors. As far as the sidebar looking different, I use the HTML codes big and /big around the text you want to be bigger.
Torani makes a Pumpkin Pie Sauce that is delicious and really easy. But you’re way sounds good too, sounds like tons of tlc went into it.

Thanks for sharing that! This was pretty easy. I bet you could even just stick it in the microwave and whisk it and get near the same results :)
I LOVE pumpink and will totally try that. Thanks! :)

Goodness me! Canned pumkin! I don’t know if we even have that here in Australia.
Am gobsmacked, in an intrigued, curious kind of way, by this entire recipe… what fun!
Haha I didn’t know they made it either! I think I’m going to have to add “gobsmacked” to my daily vocabulary :)
Wish I liked pumpkin, this sounds lovely in principle. But I know I wouldn’t be able to get over my anti-pumpkin taste-buds.

I’m not a huge fan of pumpkin and liked it, but if you don’t like pumpkin at all…. I wouldn’t bother :)
That sounds so good! Thanks for the recipe.
pumpkin latte! whoa. sounds damn interesting. need to try it out at home. shucks, hate student life. not having a proper kitchen is the stopper. :(
I bet you could make it in the microwave as long as you have a whisk and coffee :)
sounds delicious! i’m gonna try it with soy milk and whatever sugar substitute i have in my cupboard right now….
I made it with Splenda last night and it was just as good. I’ll have to try it with soy milk :)
Wouldn’t soy milk go too lumpy?
I’m not sure. I”ve never used it in coffee before.
Yummy. I had this with my breakfast this morning and it was delish! I used 2% milk, regular canned pumpkin (I didn’t have any of the spiced kind), and strong coffee- I don’t have an espresso machine. In my opinion, the whipped cream made the drink….. I didn’t like it that much until I added the whipped cream! But after the W.C- AMAZING goodness!
I’m really glad to hear it tasted as good with strong coffee! I agree the whipped cream totally makes the drinks :)
Thanks for sharing. I will have to try this:)
yummo

Definitely an easy and delicious recipe :)
Tara – Congrats on making the front page of WordPress with this post! :)
Thanks!! I’m still kinda in shock about it :)
canned pumpkin? I’m pretty sure that doesn’t exist here. The recipe sounds gooood though.
Hahaha yeah I didn’t know it existed here either :)
Wowza this looks delicious!! Nice work!
I don’t drink caffeinated bevvies but will definitely try my own spin on this for the food blog!
I made it with decaf espresso last night and it was just as delish :)
(“decaf espresso” seems like an oxymoron lol)
OMG Yum – sounds amazing – might have to try that if it ever gets to be fall around these parts…*sigh*
I thought it was turning into fall and then we had another warm weekend. I guess I shouldn’t be complaining… I just love fall weather :)
Won’t be trying this one as I like my coffee black and plain just with a little brown sugar, but well done for making the front page, your hits have really shot up.
Thanks :)
I love this! Thank you for posting it! (I wrote about this on my blog: http://onewinter.wordpress.com/)
You’re welcome! It’s so easy to make and soooo good :)
I’ll be sure to check out your blog! Thanks for stopping by!
