64.   Host a Harry Potter marathon party (more info)

Last night I hosted a Harry Potter marathon party and it was a blast! I’m so glad I have dorky friends that love HP :)

100_2583my dad (a wizard dressed as a muggle), me (a Gryffindor student),

Jakob (Harry Potter), and Kianna (a freed house-elf)

The night before I made some HP party supplies. I picked up some temp tattoo printing paper and sticky-back felt. I used these to make Dark Mark tattoos and house badges. I also put together some S.P.E.W. buttons.

The day of I started playing the first film (HP & the Sorcerer’s Stone) around 2:00pm and people showed up sporadically up until dinner time. By dinner we had finished the second film (HP & the Chamber of Secrets). We had rotisserie chicken, green beans, cheesy potatoes, and bread sticks for our feast. Followed up by some delicious desserts and drinks. Angie brought Blood Pops, Bertie Botts Every Flavor Beans (and they DO mean every flavor… including vomit, earthworm, grass, and rotten egg), Fudge Flies and Butterbeer. My mom made a golden snitch cake and Alex brought  over Felix Felicis and Love Potion.

After we finished the third movie (HP & the Prisoner of Azkaban), we played HP Sene-It?. After that the kids and my parents left and we watched HP & the Goblet of Fire (and created a drinking game for it). We finished up at around 2:00am with plans on watching the 5th movie (HP & the Order of the Phoenix) either today or Tuesday before the midnight release of HP & the Half-Blood Prince. It was so much fun :)

That’s awesome. I’ll, of course, be going to the midnight release! So excited. :)

    Love your S.P.E.W. buttons.

Thanks! They were super easy to make. I just went to Micheal’s Craft Store and picked up buttons you can pop the back off of. You can print whatever you want to put inside. We might make some “Potter Stinks” buttons for the midnight release :p

That’s awesome. My boyfriend is reading some of the Harry Potter books right now, and I’m pretty sure he wants to watch the movies too. He also has a friend that likes Harry Potter… I think they’d get a kick out of a HP marathon party.

I really need to reread the books. I think I might start them after seeing the new movie. They’re a really great series :)
