05.   Go on a road trip without a pre-set destination (more info)

Shane’s 101 – 11. go on a road trip without a preset destination

Yesterday Shane and I went on our road trip without having a pre-set destination. We spun a bottle and headed southwest. Overall, it was a really fun trip and reminded me why I love these trips. We came across some fun things we never would have planned. Most of the highlights go towards their own goal, so I’m going to summarize here with a link to the post.

First up was stopping for lunch in Festus, MO where we tried buffalo burgers for the first time.

(Find the full post here.)

Next we accidentally came across an auto tour route part of the Trail of Tears in Potosi, MO.

(Find the full post here.)

Then we headed to Rolla, MO to see the mini Stonehenge at the University of MO at Rolla.

(pictures below)

For dinner we headed back to Cuba, MO to eat at the Missouri Hick Barbecue restaurant.

(Find the full post here.)

This morning we went to the St James Winery in St James, MO. (Find the full post here.)

After that we headed home and hit the 500 mile mark just as we were getting into town :) I highly recommend adding this goal to your next 101 list (or stealing it)!

for more pictures (and to see these larger) head over to my Flickr

(I traveled 500mile/805KM to completed this goal)
