St James Winery
99. Complete A-Z Challenge (5/26) (more info)
Shane’s 101 – 99. complete A-Z challenge (5/26)
This morning our trip took us to St James Winery in St James, MO. I had picked up a bottle of their blackberry wine the night before to sip on and really liked it. We had a better time than we imagined. Not only did we get to taste some great wine, but we got to see how they make it! We took the tour of the cellar and got to see where they make wine. It was really interesting. We ended up buying 4 bottles (Blackberry, Strawberry, Velvet White, and Country Red). Once we got home Shane noticed that we already had a bottle of the St James Country Red on our counter courtesy of Alex :) We’re both counting this as our “S” for our A-Z challenge.

You know, maybe it’s my northern Californian self-centeredness, but I didn’t know they made wine in Missouri!
Haha we have a lot of wineries in the midwest with quite a few local wineries here in Illinois. :) Nothing compared to California!
The winery we visited today claims to be the largest/most technologically advanced winery in the Eastern US.
Looks like you had an amazing trip! Certainly you got some fantastic photos. I’ve wanted to visit a wine maker for a long time, maybe I’ll add that to my next list :o).
It really was a lot of fun. It’s cool to try and find the smaller attractions in little towns :)
I had never thought about it before. We went to the winery just thinking we were going to do a tasting and they announced they were starting the next tour and it ended up being really interesting :)
Ooh, that sounds really good. Now I want to go to a winery.
You guys had an amazing weekend! I’m so jealous!
We barely ever do this anymore :) It was nice just getting out of the house lol.
